Privacy Policy

Encore Frame · Last updated August 4, 2026

Encore Frame is made by SMGator Ventures ("we," "us"). We built it to turn your device into a photo frame, and we designed it so your photos and personal information stay yours. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your data.

The short version

We do not collect, store, or sell your personal data. Encore Frame runs on your device. Your photos, videos, and music are read only to display and play them for you, and they are never uploaded to us. There are no ads and no third-party tracking or analytics in the app.

Photos and videos

With your permission, the app reads photos and videos from your device's library so it can show them on screen as a slideshow. This media stays on your device. We do not copy it, upload it, or send it to our servers or to anyone else. You can grant or revoke this permission at any time in your device's Settings.

Music

If you choose to play background music, the app reads songs from your device's music library with your permission, solely to play them during a slideshow. Your music stays on your device.

Connecting a cloud service (optional)

Encore Frame can optionally show photos and videos from cloud services you already use: Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, and Google Drive. Connecting one is entirely optional and only happens if you choose to sign in.

  • You sign in through the provider's own secure login (OAuth). We never see or store your cloud account password.
  • The app receives a secure access token, which it stores only on your device, in the operating system's protected storage (Keychain). It uses that token to read the photos and videos you choose to display.
  • We only access what's needed to show your selected media. We do not browse, copy, or retain your cloud files, and we do not send them to us.
  • Signing out of a service, or deleting the app, removes the stored token from your device.

A note on Google Drive: to complete Google's secure sign-in, the app uses a small server we operate at smgator.com. Its only job is to finish the sign-in handshake (exchanging Google's one-time sign-in code for an access token) and hand the result back to the app. This server does not store your photos, your files, or your personal information.

Third-party services

When you connect a cloud service, your use of that service is also governed by that provider's own privacy policy:

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, or device identifiers for advertising. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not build a profile of you. Because we don't collect your data, we have nothing to sell or share, and we don't.

Data retention

Since we do not collect your personal data, there is nothing for us to retain on our side. The only data the app stores are your settings and any cloud access tokens, both kept locally on your device and removed when you sign out or delete the app.

Security

Cloud access tokens are kept in your device's protected storage (Keychain), and connections to cloud services use encrypted HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but because your media and information stay on your device, there is very little for anyone to access.

Children's privacy

Encore Frame is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this policy, we will post the updated version here and revise the date at the top. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
